The Truth Behind Porn
Have you ever heard the truth about porn or someone being vulnerable about their struggle? You are not alone in this episode with over 15,000 downloads, This podcast is exactly that. Katie Bulmer and Cassidy Brown tackle the addiction to porn along with the issues it brings. Cassidy Brown opens up about her struggle with porn since the age of 10 and how she got freedom from it.
Initially, Cassidy Brown went viral on TikTok for a video about her webbed toes which led her to grow her ministry. From this video, she was able to make a video revealing her struggle with pornography. Then, she reached over a million people who wanted help and guidance in their battle as well. She is now a co-founder of All One Ministry, which invites all women to grow in their faith together.
To begin, Cassidy addresses the mental health harms of porn. It caused her to have commitment issues, intimacy issues, insatiability issues, severe anxiety, and panic attacks. Cassidy’s advice is to pray through your urges. In addition, she says to talk about guilt and shame to get freedom from those thoughts and feelings. Nothing will offer more freedom than telling someone your story.
Why does porn hurt you? It has sex look perfect, which is a false reality. Sex is an intimate act designed by God in marriage to celebrate the bonding of two people brought together by Him. We must remember that nothing is perfect, and porn will only give us unattainable expectations that will cause issues with our future husband. Along with that, Cassidy explains that hook-ups make soul ties, which can be emotional or physical, that also harm our future marriage.
If you are struggling with porn, Cassidy’s first step to freedom is this: tell somebody. In doing so, you can receive accountability and love through something that brings you pain. Specifically, Katie Bulmer offers mentoring where she would love to listen to your story and encourage you. She expresses her passion for sharing your story. Cassidy explains that your story is your best offering. We all have a chance to be free, so choose freedom moving forward.
If you, or someone you love needs freedom from an addiction. We highly recommend our good friends at Fight the new Drug. They are a non-religious non legislative organization committed to educate you on healthy relationships and the dangers of porn use.
